we have fffv2 which is a fantastic resource for people, if people would put some new high-quality PSDs in there it might be enough to get people to come in and stick around while everyone thinks of something new (contest/activity).

How about designing something to do with the site, like a banner to go at the top of the forum, or a tag for advertising it or something like that. It gets people involved and spreads the word?

Hey guys, I've been lurking for a while and I'd love to be active but the two things that throw me off are the likes of Retro's shinji's signatures, which would (maybe) work on planetRenders but ruin this board's charisma and beautiful design because they're f****** retarded, no offense. The other thing is the fact that this place is built on constructive criticism which is fine but some of you need to find better ways to phrase it, otherwise all you're doing is discouraging new members, especially new taggers who would love to learn from some of you, from joining.

Having said that, I think a great idea for this board would be a tag gallery to actually display what this community can do and inspire newcomers. If any of you remember Phazon Graphics, they put up SOTW winners on a single separate page - just the author's name and the tag right under. You could also extend Vanilla to create gallery pages for each user where they could upload tags, but a single page representing the best works on a single column is probably better. If you do decide to do this, I'm a developer so I'll be happy to help out.

Other than that, hey, and I'm looking forward to sticking around.
