What's up?

Hi, all, I'm revVie!

Was pokin' round the web and found you guys.
I'm not new to gfx entirely, but I don't always have a lot of time, so it's usually one step forward, two steps back regarding improvement. I try my best though and I have fun with it. Hope to make some new friends here and learn a thing or two if you'll have me. :)

Made these for friends on a non-gfx forum (took their names off though, for privacy)

On this one, I tried out using some elements similar to ones I'd seen on someone else's tag

Stuff I made for myself (the ones with dh are my for my nick on that forum. I didn't have some of those fonts on my new pc anymore and I was too lazy to install them before posting)

And then there's the one in my signature, which is new.

They're not in chronological order at all, I just picked ones I liked because the more I like something, the blinder I am for mistakes and I haven't really been exposed much to crit from people who make gfx themselves.
Inspiration comes hard for me, stuff just kind of evolves for me as I'm doing it and often that leads to a hot mess.
I think I have a lot of areas I need to improve on and I'd really appreciate your help. I only do this for fun and relaxation, but that doesn't mean I want to permanently suck at it. :)

trying to breathe some life around here - i guess this can be a little diary thread of things that piss you off in day-to-day life. from things as small as dumbass drivers to things like getting sued or some shit, i dunno.

i'll start.

in the news today, a mother is distraught because she chose to abort a twin with a congenital heart defect, 32 weeks into her pregnancy, and the doctors aborted the healthy one. the unhealthy twin died soon after and she was forced to birth - and name - the both of them. the hospital issued a simple and rather generic apology. fuckers.

also, the West Memphis Three were released on the basis that the DNA found on the child wasn't theirs... they were released on the condition that they did not sue the court, or make money on their story in any way. i don't know the full story behind this one but i know they were in for eighteen years, and for the court to say "oh yeah, our bad, sorry dudes you can go :)" is just bullshit. compensate them handsomely and/or let them sue you, it's their rights.

well, I've been around the tagging scene for a long while. I was pretty decent at it, never a superstar or a "pro" but I also didn't show off many of my tags. it was more of a relaxation thing and I was never really that satisfied. I did put in one or two for team battles on small sites, but most of the tags I released were pretty shit compared to some of the ones I made and didn't release.

anyway, after a couple of years out of it I'm looking to get back into it slowly, following PSD's and tutorials to start with just to familiarise myself with some effects and stuff again... of course I won't release tutorial results, that's just stupid haha. main concern though, is that I'm on a laptop and don't really have a decent mouse lying around (or the means [read: money] to get one). does anyone here tag on a laptop, without an attached mouse? any tips or tricks?
